Now came the moment to find myself a brand.
after finding myself the theme and vibe and aesthetic I wanted to portray in my music video but also on my blog, it was time to think about a record label name and logo.
here are few examples of the most famous record labels in the world:
as it seen, all these logos stay relatively simple and no colour is present. This is not the case in all the record labels but the case in a vast majority. in comparison to the film companies we studied last year I do notice that record labels are kept less extravagant and more on the simple side.
when researching Angèle's record label I came across something interesting. Angèle has her own independent record label called Angèle VL Records. This being so indie it was impossible to get in touch which is why I decided to contact Warner Bros who is also a company she works with.
As I did not have a lot of inspiration to work from coming from her as an artist I decided to follow the theme and the mood I wanted to go for. Something that would fit perfectly.
So I thought "what best than using a French word for the name" which is what I did. After looking for French words that would fit and would actually make sense I found the word "éphémère" which means "ephemeral" or "short lived."
Now that I established the name I needed to find a logo. I did a little research, and browsed around the web to find the perfect app which would help me with my creation. I decided to work with Canvas and Procreate.
This is when I played around with the fonts and design and ended up with these logos:
I was so stuck with which one I wanted to go for that I decided to use my media platform to make a survey and ask peoples opinions..
this is the feedback i got...
As we can see it plays between the logo number 2 and number 4.
after speaking to my teacher and discussing the logo a little bit we both agreed that the logo number 1 fits best for the label i am trying to portray. therefore i will be going for Logo number 1.
